"Playa", as the locals call it, is a beach-side city located on the Caribbean Sea. Once you land in Cancun airport it only takes 1 hour to get to Playa Del Carmen. Most tourist buses stop in "Playa" downtown bus station, located right on 5th Ave. and Juarez Ave. The ferry docks to Cozumel and the taxi area are located close to the bus station as well, making it easy to move from one place to another in only few minutes.

5th Ave. or "La Quinta" commonly called like this by the locals, is the main street parallel to the ocean. Only 200 meters from the white sand beaches. The Mayan Ruine

The Maya city of Tulum, on the Riviera Maya, Southeast coast of the Yucatan peninsula, in the State of Quintana Roo, North of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, 145 km south of Cancun, on a spectacular 12 meters cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Tulum, Mexico is one of the greatest cities of the ancient Mayan world. Among other important archaeological sites are Coba, 42Km northwest of Tulum Ruins and Chichen Itza, 159Km in the same direction.

Around the Ruins of Tulum Archaeological Zone, and the small neighboring towns, the Maya people have kept their customs and traditions alive, and most of them live in houses with thatched roofs. The main activity is fishing, building huts, making crafts and furniture, among other activities.

Tulum, in the Riviera Maya is home to a system of underground rivers and cenotes connecting with the sea, along the coast, making it an extremely attractive place for tourists. This place is the typical Mexican seafood restaurant, "Aguachile" is the name of a typical seafood dish, recipe depends of the region of Mexico, but basically is fish, shrimp or scallops marinade with lime and chilly, what chilly : habanero, serrano, Chiltepin etc,.

At the Aguachiles, have some kind of Aguachiles recipes and there is one version for no chilly's friends. Also have other dishes like fish tacos, shrip coctails, but needless to tell. Must try Camarons Cascajos
